DARK FANTASY | LA EXHIBITION

By Megumi Murphy

Every room creates a different experience for the viewers, each with their own whimsical approach. A group of talented artists, such as Virgil Abloh, Rick Owens, Studio Drift and many more, have come together to present more than 50 sculptural artworks and functional objects for an immersive exhibit for LA art-lovers.

UTA Artist Space and Carpenters Workshop Gallery has collaborated to make this fantasy into a reality. Dark Fantasy will be on view from Oct. 11 to Nov. 16. Curated by Ashlee Harrison, this art show will be the first LA exhibition for Carpenters Workshop Gallery.

Are you familiar with Archeofuturism? It’s the concept of taking forms of the past to influence future designs. This exhibit takes viewers on a journey to explore where reality ends and fantasy begins.

The interactive rooms range from celestial to futuristic, showcasing over 50 pieces of art. This will be the LA debut Virgil Abloh’s Acqua Alta series, which is something you do not want to miss.

The features artists are Virgil Abloh, Atelier Van Lieshout, Maarten Baas, Aldo Bakker, Sebastian Brajkovic, Fernando and Humberto Campana, Nacho Carbonell, Wendell Castle, Vincenzo De Cotiis, Ingrid Donat, Vincent Dubourg, Najla El Zein, Kendell Geers, Steven Haulenbeek, Anton Hendrik Denys, Kostas Lambridis, Mathieu Lehanneur, Frederik Molenschot, Rick Owens, Random International, Robert Stadler, Studio Drift, Charles Trevelyan, and Verhoeven Twins.
