Stephano Espinoza Galarza (Guayaquil, Ecuador, 1992) is a painter who has developed his work between Ecuador and the United States. Their work explores transience and marica subjectivity through a revisionist gesture in figurative painting. He studied fine arts for a year at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and later earned a BA in Social and Cultural Analysis with concentrations in Latinx and Metropolitan Studies from New York University. They expect to receive their MFA in Painting and Printmaking from Yale University in 2023. He is the co-creator and director of TrueQué Residencia Artística and a founding member of Guayaqueer, a queer cultural center in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
