Lauren Elder (b. 1990) lives and works in Los Angeles. Elder received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with an emphasis on Fine Art & Technology. Her work has been exhibited in London, Hong Kong, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.
For her mixed media paintings, Elder combines digital processes and craft materials such as CNC engraving, UV printing, automotive paint and digital image renderings.
Cardamon Grounds is an illustrative abstraction, drawn by memory, which plays along the irrational juxtaposition of recollections woven together in our subconscious. Fleur II employs aspects of the natural world tied together in knot formations inspired by classic Flemish still-life paintings.
