In Search of Our Mothers’ Gardens is a collection of essays, speeches, and letters by Alice Walker. In these works, Walker tells the story of her mother and the spirituality and creativity she brought to her everyday domestic undertakings. Like Walker, my works are visual essays about motherhood, womanhood, and sisterhood. In these works, I tell the story of women who leave their marks on their children and inspire the world around them through their transitions into their spiritual selves.
