Bart Hajduk

Bart Hajduk is a Polish artist living in London. He graduated in Painting at Camberwell College of Arts (2016) and currently studies on the MA Fine Art programme at the Slade School of Art (2022).

Hajduk’s practice is influenced by the realm of personal mythologies, memories, fantasies, sexuality, spirituality and cosmology, as well as Polish culture and rural sensibility. His works reflect a desire to re-engage oneself with the natural world and the wider universe around us. Throughout his drawings and paintings, Hajduk creates sensuous and intimate dreamscapes or ecologies populated with animals, animal-human hybrids, plants, planets and biological forms. In this imagined reality, the boundaries between human and non-human perceptions become blurred and merge together.

Recent and upcoming exhibitions include Towards the Sun at Schloss Goerne, Kristin Hjellegjerde Gallery, Germany (2021), Entanglements in Time, Lewisham Art House, London (2021), When was the last time you saw the sea? at Youkobo Art Space, Tokyo (2021), Drawing Room, Berntson and Bhattacharjee, London (2021) London Graduates Now, Saatchi Gallery (2020), Slade x Kristin Hjellegjerde, Kristin Hjellegjerde Gallery, London (2020), Szybki Egipt, Gdańska Galeria Miejska, Gdańsk (2020).
